Nintendo Points are a type of currency you can use for buying Nintendo products online or in retail stores. In the US you can purchase Wii Points for $10 per thousand, and you can buy them online with a credit card, or you can buy a Nintendo Points Card at a retail store. When buying them, you must stipulate whether you want them for Wii products or for DSi products, because you can only use them for one system or the other, not both. You can also get up to 2000 free Nintendo Points on any of several sites, which would cost you $20 for each 2000. These are legitimate Points that the sites have purchased from Nintendo in order to draw people to their sites. The catch is that you have to let these sites send you a lot of ads from their sponsors. We advise you to sign up for a junk email address beforehand, which you can do for free from Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail. And then you can give that junk email address to the free sites so that you don’t overload your real email address with ads.
Once you agree to let one of these sites send the ads, they’ll probably direct you to their prize section, where you can choose from any of several free prizes, including Wii Points.
